Sigmund Freud might concede that sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. But on greater issues he was adamant - a dream is never just a dream.

New research shows high blood pressure doesn't affect all people equally. In fact, African American women who are overweight and have high blood pressure are at greater risk than any other group for developing heart failure, according to a new study.
Young breast cancer patients may be depressed
For several reasons, including the ``unexpected psychologic and physical shock'' of being diagnosed with cancer at a young age, younger women who are diagnosed with breast cancer are more likely to show signs of depression than their older counterparts, according to a report in the November 1st issue of the journal Cancer.
  Public highly satisfied with Medicare HMOs
Despite upheaval in the managed care market, Medicare HMOs continue to be highly rated by their members, new survey results indicate.
Both the percentage of Americans who say that they are "highly satisfied" and those who say that they intend to stick with their plans rose in 1999, according to the Atlanta-based company Caredata.com.
The survey found that 68.5% of respondents were highly satisfied in 1999, versus 66.9% in 1998; and 80.8% of respondents said that they were likely to re-enroll, versus 78.6% in 1998
  Nasal spray may reduce duration of common cold
A new nasal gel called Zicam could significantly reduce the typical length of the common cold, according to research to be published in the February issue of the American Journal of Infection Control.
