Feel the Heat ?
If somebody experiences dizziness, headache, headache or
nausea after being exposed for a while to the sun, he or she could eventually develop a
heat stroke. Here is what you can do :
Move
the person to a shaded area or a cooler site
If
the person is conscious, let him/her sit down and elevate the
feet, loosen any tight clothing, and take off any sweat-soaked clothing
Fan
the person with an electric fan or your hand
If
the person can breathe and swallow without difficulty, give him or her water
or if possible salted water (1 teaspoon of salt mixed with 1 quart of
water). Do not force him or her to drink, and don't give alcoholic or caffeinated
beverages
If
the person's condition doesn't improve, call 911 immediately
