If you don't like to run, walk!
 |
Walking is the most common
form of exercise for over 50 million Americans. It's easy, affordable, and you can do it
anywhere! |
First of all, if you have any heart disease or other
significant health problems, you should talk to your physician first before starting
walking or any kind of exercise. To start your walking program, walk at least 10 to 15
minutes at a comfortable pace for the first week.
Then for the next three weeks, walk 20-25 minutes for about a
mile (that's about 3 mph). For the following months, increase the duration to 30 to 45
minutes.
And don't try to over-exercise ! Keep a pace that allows you
to carry on a conversation comfortably.
Remember, exercise should be fun !
