PMC's close-knit team of primary care physicians offers
personalized and comprehensive medical care in internal medicine, pediatrics and family
practice. Your provider will get to know you, your medical history and lifestyle over
time to manage your complete healthcare needs. Your primary care provider is your
main contact with the healthcare system at PMC. You are encouraged to visit your
primary care provider for an initial general medical evaluation and to schedule follow-up
appointments with the same doctor. This will allow better understanding of your
overall health by your primary care provider and help you feel comfortable with your
medical care.
Internal medicine physicians specialize in the care of adult
patients. These physicians will help manage your preventive medical care including
adult immunizations, blood pressure and cholesterol checks, diabetes and cancer screening
and gynecological exams. They also treat adult patients suffering from heart disease,
diabetes, infectious disease, hypertension, lung disease, cancer, skin disease, thyroid
disease and other illnesses. Your internist will refer you to a specialist when
necessary. You may consider choosing an internist if you are 15 years or older, are
healthy and need regular preventive medical evaluations, or are an adult requiring
specialized care.
Pediatricians provide comprehensive medical services for
infants, children and adolescents. These physicians provide preventive and
developmental care management including immunizations and well-baby/child care. They
also provide medical care of acute and chronic illness of pediatric patients. You may
consider choosing a pediatrician if you are 18 years or under for your total health care
needs.
Our family practitioners provide care for your entire family
and focus their practice on general medicine, obstetrics, pediatrics and geriatrics. You
may consider choosing a family practitioner if you would like your whole family treated by
the same physician.
